Unidentified emotions can often disguise themselves as excess stress or anger leading to unintended behaviors. Be sure to check in with yourself to identify these suppressed emotions before they become present in your life disguised as something else.

STRETCH
Stretching is great for injury avoidance and enhanced performance in sports and exercise, but it is also associated with better posture, stress alleviation, better sleep, prevention of joint damage and improved ability to carry out daily activities.
REFLECT
Reflecting daily through journaling/meditation helps to identify and process life events which allows you to learn from positive or negative experiences and apply them to the future. It helps to develop a better understanding of yourself through deeper considerations of your own thoughts and behaviors. Reflection can also be a great way to regularly express gratitude.
GOAL SET
Goal setting allows you to have a sense of direction and motivation toward the future. Goals help to identify the things in life you value and prioritize as well as keep you accountable for progress along the way.
VISUALIZE
Visualizing where you want to be in life helps to increase its attainability through increased confidence, decreased anxiety, enhanced motivation and performance and adoption of health promoting behaviors.
EXPRESS GRATITUDE
Expressing gratitude, through means such as journaling/reflecting, has numerous benefits for health. Regularly expressing gratitude can reduce pain, regulate sleep, improve stress and help to manage negative emotions. Expressing gratitude releases dopamine and serotonin allowing for mood enhancement.
SHOW LOVE TO YOURSELF & OTHERS
Living light-heartedly and expressing love to yourself others will help to reduce feelings of loneliness and depression, lower blood pressure, boost the immune system and more. Studies show those engaged in positive relationships live longer.
