Homemade Blueberry Syrup Recipe
Inspired by the famous Nitro Bar and their blueberry latte, this recipe for a homemade blueberry syrup makes it possible to craft a delicious blueberry latte at home. With only 4 ingredients, this is a simple recipe that can be replicated with any frozen fruit and used in many more ways than just flavoring coffee. Also try this blueberry syrup with your matcha, sparkling water, or even on some pancakes.

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup water
1 tbsp raw honey
1 tbsp lemon juice
INSTRUCTIONS:
Bring a small pot of water to a boil on the stove. Then, add in frozen blueberries and slightly slower heat to a soft boil. Allow blueberries to break down for around 15 minutes. Stir and mash occasionally. Once the berries have fully broken down and the water has reached a deep color, take off heat.
While off heat and cooling, stir in honey and lemon juice. Once fully cooled, carefully strain into a storage container. (Save the blueberry mush for yogurt parfaits or pancake topping.)

MAKE IT A LATTE:
♥︎ 1-2 shots espresso
♥︎ 1 cup (8oz) milk
♥︎ 2 tbsp (1oz) blueberry syrup
HEALTH BENEFITS:
Berries get their color from anthocyanins, which are antioxidants believed to have properties that support the immune system and prevent chronic disease.
Fresh lemon juice is a great source of vitamin C, which is an antioxidant that protects against cell damage.
