These mini caprese skewers make for a great holiday party appetizer. They can be beautifully arranged to resemble a wreath, and are an easy grab and go appetizer.
INGREDIENTS:
to make 30 mini caprese skewers…
30 mini skewers
60 cherry tomatoes
30 fresh mozzarella balls
~20-30 fresh basil leaves
Optional toppings: balsamic glaze, extra virgin olive oil, salt
INSTRUCTIONS:
Prepare caprese skewers sandwiching one mozzarella ball between two cherry tomatoes. On a medium to large sized round plate, begin with a layer of basil leaves along the perimeter of the plate. Next, layer about 20 mini caprese skewers atop of the basil leaf perimeter. Then, place more basil lining the bottom of the caprese skewers. Add the remaining 10 skewers as the second layer evenly spread slightly below the first layer. Fill in with more basil as needed. Season with salt. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze. Serve & enjoy.
